This welcome mat was purchased as a replacement for an identical mat purchased through a different company 6 years ago. The personalization on this new mat was dramatically better (darker) than the last mat (again ordered elsewhere). The reason the mat had to be replaced after 6 years is that the Florida sun really beat it to death and it started to come apart causing straw-like material to be scattered throughout my entryway. However, I can't stress enough how many compliments I have received on this mat. It is large, thick, and really adds a dramatic appeal to our entryway. It certainly is more expensive than buying a smaller, cheaper (non-personalized) mat at your local retailer, but if you can afford this mat, and you have a wide enough entryway at your home, I highly recommend you consider it. You won't regret it.

Item itself is excellent. Despite your best efforts, it did NOT arrive for the photographer when he was going to be there. When Fedex or whoever, shows up before 9AM for a delivery, it is not unusual for a business office to not be open yet and when that is a Friday, you then don't see them again until Monday. Make sure you allow enough time for delivery; obviously, I did not.

The only problem I could see with the mat was the lettering. The name I ordered was McDonald. The c was almost the same size as the other letters so it was hard to distinguish it from the capital letters. The quality of the material was excellent. I wish it would have arrived in a box rather than plastic because I was giving it as a gift. I had to go out and find a box to wrap it in. I will order again. It is a good product.

This is a very nice doormat. It was expensive but I wanted a custom doormat as a gift so I was willing to pay extra. This is a much nicer mat than the $20 mats you may find at the home improvement store. It is soft enough to step on barefoot, yet will still clean dirt off the bottom of shoes before entering the house.

My greatest disappointment was that the font I had chosen, which was Broadway font, was completely different then that of the matt and ugly. January , 2010 Our 2009 Christmas gift of an expensive personalized door mat to my daughter's family did not include the gift card. It was awhile before we received a THANK YOU and she finally determined that it was us by the process of elimination. Not sure what happened, but you may want to check to see if your gift was received if you don't hear the recipeint. Otherwise, she is pleased with the doormat--at least, so far. On a previous personalized mat that we had sent to them , but not from this company; thre namre wore off after a year or so, which was disappointing. We have asked her to let us know if this happens in the future with this mat. I gues only time will tell.

We received this doormat as a gift and we absolutely LOVE it! We live in an area where there are very few paved roads and the winters are cold, snowy and muddy. In my haste to place my order I accidentally ordered two doormats. With 24 hours I received an email asking me if I meant to place a duplicate order. I responded with a "no" and the customer service department so graciously agreed to cancel the second order. Within 3 days of that correspondence I received a phone call confirming the information that was discussed in the emails. Tired of thumbing through the boating catalogues to find a unique gift for a good friend who is an avid boater, check out the Long/Lat Mat. You can get the coordinates by supplying the zip code where they live, or you can go that extra mile and use your hand held GPS to establish their exact location. I haven't had the mat long enough to give an opinion on its durability, and a word to the wise is that white, block lettering is best to show easily readable lettering against primary color backgrounds. The company personnel were easy to work with when setting up my requirements and the execution of their product delivery was efficient and as promised. I recommend this product as one of the "something you don't see every day" variety.

Greeting from Canada! I gave my Parents and Mother-in-law a Personalized Mat that had their family names on it and they were an absolute HIT! They loved the idea, and thought it was a thoughtful Christmas gift. I was very happy with the mats and the quality, although I was a little surprised at the final price. Living in Canada, when ordering online, the price certainly changes with the exchange rate and the shipping. A mat that advertises for $37.00, exceeds that almost triple! So, just a little suggestion...as MANY family and friends have asked "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT MAT!", and everybody loves a personalized gift, and online shopping is becoming very popular, I tell everyone where...but...am hesitant of telling them the shipping. Other Online shopping sites that my husband and I frequently buy from have a free shipping to the US and Canada policy (mostly if it's over $50-$100). That certainly entices us to buy. And Unfortunately, as pleased as I am with my recent purchases, the increase in price total after shipping, will certainly deter me from ordering again. I would love to use The personalized Doormats in the future for wedding gifts, etc. If there was a flat rate of shipping or even free over a certain price, it would encourage me and my family/friends for future purchases! I had ordered a personalized SEC doormat from this company on 12/2/09. It did arrive 3 days prior to Christmas YAY, but my problem comes in with the quality of the door mat. It was nothing like what was described or seen on the image when I purchased it. Customer service with personalized doormats was GREAT, but they do use an outside vendor to make the Collegiate doormats. I would recommend to personalized doormats company to find another vendor for these items. The coloring was off, it looked as if someone had already been walking over it, the letter coloring wasn't white, more like an off dirty white, and the dying or bleaching of the letters was poorly done leaving bleeding of color into the "off white" letters. I would recommend using personalized doormats only for their customer service but would not recommend getting any product that uses that specific outside vendor. I did not want to send back the item as it was for a going away, christmas present for a military family that was leaving the country. The ONLY reason a 3 was given for stars was for customer service. This is the first and probably ONLY time I will be using/ or ordering personalized doormats as the quality or lack there of, did not meet my expectations.

The overall quality of the mat was very well done, nicely stitched etc... I would certainly order another one if I had the need. That being said, it took 5 weeks for me to receive my order. I ordered it two weeks in advance of the date I needed it (an anniversary), only to receive it three weeks late, postponing an important celebration to a certain extent. To their credit, they were extremely helpful and cordial on the phone -- even sending me tracking information. I just don't understand why it took so long still. Like I said, it's a quality item, but be sure to order it far enough in advance!!

To make a long story short, the company promised to ship on the 24th. Today the 27th I get notice that it just shipped. If you place an order make sure you keep on top of them. i'm sure the mat will be wonderful if I ever get it.

I purchased a customized doormat from another company the last time I bought a custom mat.. I was pretty happy with that doormat, but it had some negative memories associated with it. That company no longer had purple as a color choice and I had to have purple for my new doormat. I came to The Personalized Doormats Company's website because they had purple. Designing my new doormat was simple and easy, and I was able to add plenty of names and dates on the mat. I will say that the colors represented on my monitor were not as vibrant as I wanted, but I ordered the mat anyway. And rendering colors on monitors is notoriously difficult to do accurately becasue they are all different. Just be aware that the colors may not be absolutley true to what was rendered on the screen. When the mat arrived, I was blown aaway by the vibrant colors and how well the mat looked. It was fantastic, and it makes me smile every day. It is much heavier than my previous mat because of the rubber backing, but that is a very good thing. The mat lies flat and does not blow around as easily as the last mat I had. I haven't had the mat long enough to know how well it will wear, but it seems to be well made. And I know it is good looking. I will also say that the delivery time on ths mat was much quicker than the previous company I used. Based on my one experience with The Custom Doormat Company, I would recommend them to anyone.

We had our house remodeled. The entryway flooring is slate. Door clearence was minimal due to the added layers needed to put down the slate tiles. The new rubber backed fit under the door perfectly. Our family had been in the ranching business for 25 years. They reproduced our brand perfectly and now all three of my children want one also. The carpet makes a wonderful entryway especially during the winter where snow is tracked in the house. This carpet stays in place when someone wipes their shoes off or takes them off. My wife loves the carpet (surprised her) and she is not easy to please when it comes to home furnishings.

My mat was a bit of a challenge to create and to ship. The challenge in creating it was having three languages on the mat, one on each line and then to ship it over to Norway where I live. The first two lines on the mat were in Latin characters (In Basque and Norwegian) but the las was in Chinese. Understandably, we were pretty nervous when we opened the package conatining the mat. But the mat was just as we expected it to be, Chinese characters and all. Now, as for the shipping there's another matter. This company has no focus on the market outside the US and rarely ships outside the borders. This results in a extraordinarily high shipping price (over 100 USD!) but I maganged to get the price down a bit by using a US reshipping service. All in all, very happy and the mat is the talk of our guests when they arrive. Well, the mat and our wall art. ;)

So, our personalized mat found its origins in a gag gift for my brother, citing he and his wife's distinction of being named their town's best-dressed couple of the week at a fund raiser. So, that's what the mat says: Home of X and Y, Best Dressed Couple of the Week. But when we received the mat, it was immediately obvious that the quality of workmanship was of a magnitude that we hadn't expected for a gag gift. The product is lush, densely woven, expertly customized -- in short, it seems to me that had I gone looking for a (noncustomized) doormat of comparable quality in a high-end department store, I would not have found this. Really remarkable. Even my brother, who jokingly cursed the gift, is compelled by the quality of the mat to showcase it on his front steps. I think we both realize that in doing so, it will remain there for years to come without detriment to the mat itself.

The mat was easy to assemble (name plate) and we love it. I wondered what the rubber would look and feel like, but it is a very elegant look. We have two big dogs that are often sitting in front of our door and this mat can take it all. If it gets dirty, just go over it with a hose.

The mat came out very nicely. The only problem with it was a small bulge in the mat on one of the edges. It probably will flatten out over time and is not very noticeable. Also, there was a lot of black hairs from the customized letter on the mat that got everywhere when it was taken out of the box. Be sure to remove it from the box outdoors and shake it out really well.
